Expert System
An expert system is a type of artificial intelligence that simulates the judgment and behavior of a human or an organization with expert-level knowledge in a specific domain. It is designed to solve complex problems by reasoning through bodies of knowledge, represented mainly as if-then rules. Expert systems use a knowledge base, which contains the domain-specific knowledge, and an inference engine, which applies logical rules to the knowledge base to deduce new information or make decisions. They are often used in fields such as medical diagnosis, financial forecasting, and troubleshooting in various technical areas. The goal of an expert system is to provide users with advice or solutions equivalent to those that would be given by a human expert, making them useful for assisting decision-making processes in specialized fields.
