In a remarkable demonstration of global logistics prowess, Express Global Logistics (EXG) from India successfully undertook an impressive task crucial for Saudi Arabia’s burgeoning green energy sector. This ambitious project involved the transportation of colossal components necessary for a groundbreaking green hydrogen initiative in the region.
The sheer scale of this operation was staggering. Each of the components measured up to 50 meters and weighed an astonishing 250 tonnes. In total, the operation handled 14 enormous units, equating to almost 1,500 freight tonnes. To tackle this formidable challenge, EXG utilized their state-of-the-art Megaload transport technology.
Central to this logistical triumph was a fleet equipped with advanced Scheuerle modular transporters. The transporters boasted 48 axle lines combined with sophisticated power and spacer systems, ensuring they could manage the heavy load efficiently. Precision and meticulous attention were critical at every stage.
Eight of the massive structures embarked on their journey via ocean transport using the roll-on roll-off method. The remaining six units traveled overland to a jetty, where crawler cranes meticulously handled them. This operation showcased EXG’s innovative approach and expertise in overcoming formidable logistical challenges.
In a strategic move to enhance their capabilities, EXG partnered with Italy’s Fagioli in early 2023. This collaboration, known as the Megaload venture, is poised to strengthen their prowess in the petrochemical and construction sectors, cementing EXG’s reputation for executing monumental logistical feats.
